True is also eager to bid for the 1,800-megahertz spectrum in the future so that it can provide fourth-generation service.
Its current 3G service on the 850MHz spectrum in partnership with CAT Telecom will also be continued, Noppadol said.
The 4G operation will be mainly for data services, while its 2.1GHz service will be for both voice and data, he added.

True aims to break even on 3G by 2018
True Corp expects to break even on its upcoming 3G-2.1GHz service within five or six years, chief finance officer Noppadol Dej-udom said yesterday.
Although True might not need a strategic partner for purely financial reasons to bolster its business offering third-generation wireless broadband, it does require a partner to enable it to procure 3G mobile devices and a network on a cost-effective basis, he added.
"Money is no longer the issue for us," he said.
True's subsidiary Real Future was one of three bid winners at the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) auction of slots on the 2.1-gigahertz spectrum last Tuesday.
True used its own cash flow of about Bt10 billion to pay for the 50-per-cent final up-front fee for the three slots acquired by Real Future in the auction.
Real Future paid a net Bt5.872 billion for the 50-per-cent fee yesterday. The total amount was Bt7.222 billion, but - as with the other two bidders - it had already lodged a Bt1.35-billion deposit with the NBTC before the auction to guarantee that it would bid for the spectrum.
Yesterday's cashier's cheque was issued by Siam Commercial Bank. The company also showed the NBTC a guarantee from both SCB and Krungthai Bank that it would meet the requirement to pay the remainder of the fee in the second and third year of 3G operations,
as required by the auction terms.
Noppadol said True's strategic partner would most likely come from Asia, where the company is in talks with a number of telecom operators.
Potential partners are, however, confused about what is going on about the outcome of the auction, which has been criticised for a low level of competition among the three bidders, he added.
He supports the NBTC's plan to set up a panel soon to examine whether there was any irregularity of the auction process, before the watchdog can proceed with the granting of licences to the bid winners. "The probe will be a checks-and-balances process and will be transparent to all parties," he said.
Advanced Wireless Network, a subsidiary of Advanced Info Service, successfully bid a total of Bt14.625 billion for three slots at the auction, while DTAC Network and Real Future each bid Bt13.5 billion for the three slots they both acquired.
Advanced Wireless Network and Real Future have now paid the 50-per-cent final up-front fee to the NBTC. DTAC Network is expected to do so this week.
